How To Organize Your Kitchen - The 3 Tips That Work

Austen Seekabow

A kitchen should make it easy to prepare meals and make cooking enjoyable, not someplace you have to labor in just to complete minor tasks. Most people's kitchens could use a little reorganization to make them run a little smoother. Using some proper organization and planning will produce a kitchen that is the efficient work space you need it to be. These three powerful tips will help you make your kitchen into a fun place to cook and get rid of all your unnecessary clutter.

* Purge. Start be removing anything you do not use on at least a daily basis from on top of your counters. Congested counter space can be one of the hardest things to deal with in a kitchen, especially if you have a smaller one. Also go through all you cabinets and refrigerator, and removing anything that is expired, unused or damaged. Do not be afraid to through away or donate items, how many spatulas does one person need anyways.

* Ergonomics. After have removed all unnecessary junk from the kitchen, its time to do a little planning. Where things are kept in a kitchen can make all the difference between one that works, and one that is a pain in the rear. If it is not easy to get to the supplies and tools you need, even the most modern, up to date and fully stocked kitchen will be hard to work in. A small, but properly arranged space can be very easy to cook in. Put like items near each other using common sense. It also makes sense to put your most use plates in the cupboard by the dishwasher or sink, for instance. Utensils drawers should be near the stove to make most sense, and bake wear should be kept together, as close to the oven as possible.

* Organization. Do not be afraid to use labels to help you remember where everything goes, even though it is your kitchen. When you do not have to think about where something is, or try to find it a new home after every shopping trip, you will save untold amounts of time. This will also make it easier to produce your shopping lists, as you can visually see rather quickly what items you will need to pick up at the grocery.

A well organized kitchen is a blessing to use and makes cooking fun. If you find that your space just is not that easy to work in, you may need a little reorganizing. The three quick tips will make sure you turn your kitchen into a great place to cook and bake.
