Dental Plans: Why They're So Popular

Sadly, according to the American Dental Association(ADA), more than 108 million Americans are currently living without some form of dental care coverage, and most people that do have some form of dental insurance can only afford it because it was offered by their employer. So what does a person do if they are unemployed, between jobs, or are employed by an employer who doesn't offer dental insurance benefits? My suggestion would be to look into discount dental plans.
Why discount dental plans? Because discount dental plans are void of many of the problems with traditional dental insurance.
Traditional dental insurance plans feature many drawbacks, including: costly deductibles, tedious claim forms, long waiting periods and other limitations. Furthermore, many dental insurance policies enforce annual maximums regardless of coverage necessity. Some people are even denied care entirely due to pre-existing conditions. In short, dental insurance can be ugly. What's even uglier is that unless provided by an employer, dental insurance is virtually unaffordable for the average person.
Luckily, there is an alternative.
You guessed it, a discount dental plan. Discount dental plans are not only affordable, but they are free of paperwork hassles and costly deductibles. With discount dental plans, there are no annual limits or costly monthly premiums, and members can enjoy discounts on almost any dental procedure all year long. Health restrictions? Throw those out the window. Discount dental plans are available to everyone regardless of pre-existing conditions. Still want to get that cosmetic dentistry done? With a discount dental plan, you most likely can. Orthodontics too? You bet. Best of all, discount dental plans are extremely affordable, and available to individuals, families, and groups. Discount dental plans even extend care to include: braces, crowns, root canals, dentures, cosmetic dentistry, and more on select plans.
There is simply no way to compare costly and restrictive traditional dental insurance with low-cost, inclusive discount dental plans. We all know how important dental care is to our daily lives, so we deserve the best at the lowest price. This is clearly discount dental plans in my opinion.
I highly encourage you to take a look at your current coverage and determine whether a dental discount plan is a better fit for you - I think you'll find that it is.
