The Slim BenQ T60 Mobile Phone - Product Review

Ivan Cuxeva Jr

Among the fully loaded mobile phones, the sexy ones and the ones which show the most innovations we find that the BenQ mobile phone is quite a work of art and technology. BenQ has recently released information pertaining to the T60 mobile phone which stands out from the rest by its unique physical characteristics and features. This ultra-slim phone is only 8.9mm thin which brings it closer to the phone used in the Men in Black movie which was also incredibly thin, however in a feature comparison the Men in Black version falls short.

The BenQ T60 model provides a considerably large LCD display, it is in fact a 2.2 inch QVGA TFT LCD display, those are lots of words and acronyms huh? The most important thing to remember is that the fact that this mobile phone is thin doesn't mean that the company has considerably sacrificed important features found in today's 3G phones.

Incidentally, the large screen display is just one of the great features found in this device, another one is the innovative 3.2 Megapixel digital camera. Unlike previous models the T60 has a built in camera which has a better resolution than most competing devices, this means that the days when mobile phones were only able to capture images in VGA mode at 640X480 of resolution are long gone; considering how thin this mobile phone is, users will really be amazed to find a digital camera in there.

Things don't stop there, after playing around with this device you will notice that it sports a very useful multimedia player which is able to playback video and audio files encoded with the following formats: MPEG4, MP3, MIDI, SP-MIDI and AMR. MIDIs are mostly used for ringtones and such, MP3s and MPEG4 are used for music and videos respectively.

The only thing that might be considered a weak point is the internal memory which is only 24mb, however the T60 compensates by adding even more features such as a built-in FM radio with a schedule recording function in case you are fan of radio talk shows, the recorded file can be saved in the internal memory or it can be saved on a microSD memory card which is the alternative BenQ provided to solve the internal memory shortage. This device is also Bluetooth compatible.

American consumers will be a bit disappointed to know that this device is only projected to hit the Taiwanese and Turkish market around April of this year; this might be considered test markets to make sure everything works well so that it can be launched in a more demanding market such as the one found in USA.
