What is Energy Healing?

Many therapies integrate some method of energy healing. Despite the prevalence of various energy healing modalities, many of us may not understand what energy healing is or how it works. Let's begin by establishing that you have more than just a physical body. Each of us has an Etheric Body, an Emotional Body, a Mental Body and an Astral Body. Everything that happens to us, what we think or do, all impacts us on multiple levels. It manifests in the form of energy that penetrates the multi-body system, leaving an imprint--the size and nature of which depend on why it is there.
Everything around us, including our bodies, contain energy. Each person has areas in their body, called chakras, that store this energy and certain energy patterns. Energy patterns result from the events that have occurred across a persons lifetime. Some of these will leave good patterns while some will represent the emotional scars of painful experiences. Such memories are sometimes stored deep in the chakras, and although we try to forget them, they don't go away.
Bad energy patterns can cause an imbalance in an individual's whole energy field, also known as the aura. Throughout our lives, we absorb a number of negative energy forms, such as fear, anger, jealousy, blame, judgment and doubt. Healing techniques that release the bad energy in our bodies help us to move toward relief and ultimately, happiness. If illness and disease are manifestations of unbalanced, or "bad" energy, then clearly balancing that energy is a good way to promote healing.
Energy healing involves realigning the energy in the body, which is also known as chakra rebalancing. There are several things to remember when receiving energy healing. The first is that your body has an inherent ability to heal itself, and by connecting with your bodys wisdom you can learn what it needs. The second is that good health is best achieved when there is flawless communication between all the body's systems. A synchronized body adapts easily to lifes stresses.
The third thing to remember is that a specific healing sequence should be followed. If the sequence is altered or interrupted, the healing process will be slowed down. Lastly, it is believed that the closer you listen to your body, the more it will guide you towards a state of healing.
Energy healing can be done by yourself or you can visit one of the many New York City healing centers for the guidance of a trained energy healer. Energy healers work with patients to help restore balance and promote overall well-being. The patients ability to respond and their capacity for healing will affect the results of the treatment.
