How to Use Your Website to get Repeat Customers
Kyle Farrah
Without a website it is very hard for many small businesses to stay alive. Becuase of this the web design business has grown incredibly quickly. There are billions of people on the internet, and many of them have "purchasing power", that is enough money to buy the products that are being sold online.
Here are some ways which you can use to create repeat business for your website:
1) Blogging - One way that many small businesses reach potential customers is by creating a blog. They can talk about their day to day business on their website, in a more freindly way. This helps to build trust between you and your customers, and maintain good relationships. Blogs are also great for improving your Search Engine Rankings. Because SE's like Yahoo, and Google love websites that are constantly being updated, they will certainly love blogs. You can post often and the SE's will give you a much better ranking.
2) Get Feedback - People like to feel like they are part of the product or service that you are promoting. You can create feedback forms so that people can contact you on your site, or you can create polls so that they can vote on various issues. This will help you to find out how to change your product, to make it better. It will also help to make your customers feel like you care about them (Which you do).
3) Forums - If you create forums on your website, you will allow other people interested in your product to talk to each other. This allows people to discuss various topics (related to your product) which will generate interest in your product, and get more return visitors. You will also be able to get new customers through the forum, as SE's will start indexing the individual threads on the forum. If you have a younger audience you may also want to set up a chat room.
4) New Content - You should constantly create new articles, or other forms of content to post on your website. This makes it so that you can get more visitors. You should put these articles on your site for free, in order to generate more traffic to your site. Some of these people will eventually buy your product, becuase they have been reading your articles for a long time. This is part of the reason why blogs are so popular, they make it extremely easy to update, and add content.
5) RSS - You should set up an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed. This allows people to add the RSS feed to their homepage, or some other site they visit often, and then it will display your newest posts title. The RSS subscriber can then click on the link to go to your website, and read your article.
6) Sign Up Page - You can add a page to your website where users can sign up for a mailing list that you have created. You can then send them occasional reminders of your product/service/website.
In order to get more subscribers you should offer something in order to entice them to join your mailing list. You can offer them a free ebook, or free articles, or something else like that, in order to get the subscribers. Whenever you offer a discount send an email telling them about it. This way they can save money, and will be more likely to buy it, because of this.
These are some of the ways in whcih creating a website can help you to get more repeat visitors. There are many more, however these are the main ones. If you use some of these techniques you will recieve many more repeat sales.
