The Sims 3 - The Next Generation Arriving!

Linda Liebe

If you are a simulation-game fanatic, like some of us here at http://apexgames.net, then the rest of 2008 will surely pass as slowly for you as the download of a full-length feature film on dial-up. The release in 2009 of the latest addition to the EA Games' Sims family - The Sims 3 (TS3) - is being eagerly anticipated by fans worldwide.

TS3 allows users to customise EVERYTHING in the game, so you as the player are able to create an entirley unique gaming experience. You can completely recreate your whole family, right down to that hook on your brother's nose, the ring through your sister's navel and that beer-gut your dad so proudly wears. You can even include their erratic personalities since TS3 allows you to create realistic Sims with complex personalities (this is achieved by selecting from a dozen different personality traits when you first create your Sim).

While you're at it, why not design your dream house - complete with matching furniture throughout... customised by YOU of course! One of the tiresome things with The Sims 2 was the limited range of choice for variety. There were lovely items available to buy, but they came in a restricted range of colour or style... Not anymore! The Sims 3 programmers have very cleverly made sure that you, the player, can change the look of ANYTHING in your game. This will make for some very exclusive, interesting neighbourhoods and lounge rooms!

While The Sims 2 limited your Sim to his or her Lot, TS3 offers more freedom and interaction. Take a walk to Mrs. Gregor's house down the way to drop off some biscuits - you won't need to call a taxi and save your Lot... you can literally walk there. There is more freedom offered in this game, with your Sim being able to explore the neighbourhood without limitation - be it a walk to the park or off to the shops. Looking forward to that one!

With all these (and more) delicious goodies being stuffed into TS3, just like Mum's turkey on Christmas Day, gamers on some blogs are wondering whether their system will be able to keep up. Fans have reported crashes and slow gaming on their current PCs whilst playing The Sims 2 with all of the expansion packs loaded. Hesitant voices are echoing through some web channels as they ponder whether purchasing TS3 will also involve purchasing an upgrade of their computer.

Whatever the outcome, The Sims 3 is a much awaited game that we will be keeping our eye on. Check http://apexgames.net for further The Sims 3 news as it comes to hand, or visit the official The Sims 3 site - http://thesims3.ea.com.
