Perhaps it is simply the love of natural materials that makes people falls in love with bamboo fencing, but whatever the reason there is no doubt that bamboo is now one of the most popular materials to use for fencing in the garden and other landscapes. The great thing about it is that it is extremely flexible, but there are a few considerations that need to be taken into account before you go ahead and buy bamboo fencing.
There are mainly two considerations that need to be borne in mind, and this is whether to go for flexible bamboo fencing or to go for panels. Both types of fencing have advantages and disadvantages, and depending on the type of look you are trying to achieve you should choose one or the other.
Flexible fencing is exactly as the name says, which means it is a roll of bamboo that can be unfurled and fitted onto fencing posts. This gives a very rustic look, and is an excellent way to make the garden have an Oriental or tropical feel. The downside to this is that it is not very secure, and so if security is important to you this may not be the right choice.
If you want to bamboo in your garden but also need security, then looking at bamboo panels is probably the best bet. In a similar way to flexible fencing, bamboo panels are very easy to install, but they give a less rustic look and with far more security, since they can be very secure, particularly when they are fitted using concrete or steel fencing posts. In terms of price bamboo panels are probably a little bit more expensive the could be worth it for the extra security.
With these two considerations in mind take time to do some research into the various suppliers of bamboo fencing and choose one that can give you the best deal on the type of fencing you think will fit in with your security concerns and design aspirations.
