Generic Host Process trouble - How to deal with it painlessly?

Removing svchost.exe will sometimes cause your Windows to not boot at all. svchost.exe process is a part of standard Windows distribution and you can restore it there. Svchost.exe is a service and therefore it shouldn't appear in your autorun list. Each svhost.exe process can host up to 10 different libraries or even more. If you see Svchost in your autorun list, it is probably a virus and not the legal file.
