Choose a Healing Course: Hypnotherapy Training

Mel Bryson

For many, deciding what to do with their lives is something that begins early on, except that the options you are given are in fact, quite limited. Think back to the aptitude tests that you took as a grade school or high school student. You probably ranked for something like social work, banking, medicine, law, management, etc. All very job-oriented tasks that are meant to put you on an academic course to achieve your goals. Want to heal people? Well, by those standards you need to excel in science, so that you might grow up to prescribe drugs or perform surgical operations. For many, this path seems very counter-intuitive.

While the money might not be as good, or the prestige quite as high, those who set out to receive their hypnotherapy certification, for example, are also entering a healing field, and one that is far more accessible to the masses and can be just as effective at helping people to create healing and change in their life as could any other medical profession. Now, this is not to say that western medicine does not have value, because indeed it does. The human mind, however, should also be valued as a healing tool. Through hypnosis training, practitioners learn to create highly receptive states of mind through which problematic thought patterns and belief systems can be released.

The rate of efficacy for hypnotherapy after only six sessions is 93%, according to Alfred A. Barrios, Ph.D. Compare this to the rates of recovery for psychoanalysis-- 38% after 600 sessions, and behavior therapy- 72% after 22 sessions. This research was published in American Health Magazine. Now, these fields need not be held separate, either. Imagine the success rate for a behavior therapist who also had hypnotherapy training! There are many other fields that can benefit from the addition of hypnotherapy, from counseling to massage therapy.

Anyone who works in the health industry would benefit from the knowledge that hypnosis training would impart, especially those who work one on one with others. Imagine being able to help your chemotherapy patients alleviate some of the discomfort and pain they experience, or helping people with anxiety regarding dental work relax in the chair and have a pleasant experience. Of course, the professional applications aside, this is information that can be shared among friends and family because this is the kind of knowledge and ability that is desirable to share with all those around you. Healing and helping others is something anyone can do and finding your particular skills might just be as easy as taking classes at a healing institute.
