What Smoking Cessation Aids Are Out There?

Everyday millions of people try to stop smoking. It isn't easy. Everyday millions of people give up and relapse. You don't have to be one of those millions. You can be one who succeeds. The most common is nicotine replacement, or better known as nicotine patches or gum. This is where you slowly ween yourself off of nicotine.

Your body becomes addicted to nicotine and you may suffer from physical and physiological symptoms. Nicotine invades the brain and makes you crave it. When some people try "cold turkey" their bodies can go through severe withdraw. They can become irritable and nervous.

For most people, smoking has become a habit for them. They can not drive in a car without smoking, or they need a cigarette when they drink coffee. You need to deal with that aspect of smoking.

For that, hypnosis may help. Hypnosis can help you get in touch with your subconscious. You can literally imagine yourself as a non-smoker, and become non-smoking. It's all mind over matter

Hypnosis can help with your self esteem and help you have a more positive outlook. Many people who stop smoking become depressed.

Another smoking cessation aid is acupuncture. An Ancient Chinese practice, acupuncture is when you stick thin needles into pressure points on your body, which in turn block endorphins to your brain to stop the urge to smoke. It can actually lower smoking chemicals in the blood stream. A practice similar to acupuncture is laser therapy, where the concept is the same, but they use lasers instead.

You can also look into herbs. Herbs are 100% natural and safe. You can take them in pill form to help with symptoms or you can smoke herb cigarettes to help you ween off of nicotine.
