Writing Resource Box The Wrong Way

Guy Siverson

Article marketing works!

If you've been around Internet Marketing for long you've heard those words enough to either make you sick or motivated. Perhaps they showed up near words talking about the best article submission software, or perhaps not.

What's important is to understand that they weren't telling you the full truth. You see, if you go about writing the resource box for your article the wrong way it will amount to little more than a lazy employee who takes extended breaks and sleeps at their desk when they are supposed to be working. If that is not the ultimate of success in the "real world" then it certainly won't be the case in "virtual reality" (aka the Internet)

Therefore, I'd like to share with you some "wrong ways" of resource box writing so that you can avoid these steps and your efforts will consequently not be in vane.

After all, the last thing you want to see when you logon to your article directory are the words "account suspended." Fortunately, when I personally found those words waiting for me EzineArticles.com was most always helpful in getting me back on track quickly.

*** Your Name Is Critical *** I started creating resource boxes without my name since most article directories only give you 255 - 300 characters to formulate your resource box. I learned that this worked to my disadvantage for a couple of reasons. First, if a good article directory like EzineArticles.com cannot verify the authentic nature of the article they will not allow that article to run on their directory. Second, many article directories provided an author name at the top of the article "IF" they are given one to provide.

*** Your Length Is Critical *** I read recently that some resource box writings are half the size of the article or more. I'm not sure how that's possible when article directories will quickly cut you off at the hip if the resource box goes above a certain number of characters. Whatever the case, keep your articles rich with content and the author resource box at the end short, sweet and to the point.

*** Long Tail Keywords Are Critical *** One method of making this happen is to create the code to show "best article submission software" as hyperlinked words rather than displaying the URL. It sure looks more classy that way, but I have found that a large majority of article directories will not recognize this code leaving your nicely crafted resource box looking like cr... -- I think you get the point.

That's why I approach this process in a different way. Rather than actually linking the words I provide the URL while naming the actual article the exact same thing as the title of the article with both entities holding the long tail keyword within their content.

That way you receive

Read Best Article Submission Software @ (your link would go here with the last part being /Best-Article-Submission-Software.htm instead of actually linking the words Best Article Submission Software.

*** Article Writing Tip *** When I create my article I write two different articles from their own slants such as positive vs negative. I post one to my blog (which search engines love) and the other to my website. Then I hyperlink the exact pages of where the articles are and provide information about the other article in the resource box of the article being read. If your reader was interested enough in reading one article through to the end their is an excellent chance they will be interested in reading the other article also. The back and forth action between the blog and website is sure to catch the attention of the search engines in a positive way.

*** Not All Article Directories Are Created Equal *** Ain't that the truth. There are some that will publish your material within 24 hours while others seem to take 24 years for the same process. Be patient and set yourself a goal to write and publish 2 articles a day with proper resource boxes included. In a years time that would be over 700 sales agents working for you out on the Internet. That can't be anything but good.

However, every article directory has it's own standard set of rules. That's why I would recommend using the best article submission software only after you have become familiar with the article directory itself. Logon. Create your profile. People actually look at those things and you also can link back to your Internet projects by providing a URL if you would like to (which I recommend).

*** In Conclusion *** Your resource box matters and can work for you if you set it up in such a way that people actually pay it much attention. Now that you know how to avoid writing resource box the wrong way you can set your sites on writing right and succeed.
