What Parents Need To Know About Child Care

I know as a parent you run into other parents everywhere you go, and no matter where you go there always seems to be that parent that appears to be lost in a thick cloud of smoke wondering what is going on. These are the parents, whose children are wandering around a grocery store, pulling things off the shelves, while mom is talking on her cell phone; or the parent whose child is coloring on the walls while dad is watching the game on TV with his friends. These parents also bring their children to child care, and you need to be aware of them and recognize them.

Parents who think they are doing a great job regardless of the obvious signs that their children need a little extra supervision or attention is a major reason you, as an educated caring parent need to be prepared. Every parent wants to believe that they have the most talented, smartest, cutest, happiest, nicest children possible, and for the most part, children are the blessings that they should be. However, if a parent neglects to acknowledge when there are real issues with a child, thats when the problems begin.

Ive also written a book because of my experiences in teaching and, most importantly, my experiences teaching in child care. Ive always been one to demand excellence in everything I do and from everyone I encounter. The fact that child care is less than excellent keeps me searching for a way to improve the standards that arent meeting my, and hopefully your expectations.

I always thought that if Im a good teacher and a good role model, then others will follow suit and step up to the challenge of creating quality child care, and that it would be enough. Ive always hoped that there are more people out there that have the same standards I do and are creating the same quality than not, but the more I teach, the more I find this isnt the case.
