What Parents Need To Know - Quality Child Care For Parents
Healthy brain development begins even before a child is born. While a child is developing in the womb, the brain is in charge of establishing connections to assist in basic movements including reflex actions such as breathing and heartbeat as well as movement of the arms, fingers, and legs. Development continues to include regulating the senses including developing hearing and sight. Research has shown that newborn babies respond to familiar sounds such as a mothers voice.
Emotional development is also affected by early learning experiences. If a childs parents or primary caregivers are predictable and meet the needs of the child in the infant and toddler years, the child is better able to focus on learning and exploring. If a childs basic needs are not met, the child must expend more energy to attain those necessities and therefore has less energy to learn cognitive and social skills (Zero to Three).
Parents, are you looking for quality daycare or childcare? Are you looking for someone whos more than a babysitter? Wondering what your states standards and regulations are? Want your children to get a good early childhood education from a teacher who cares and is qualified? Have you checked out your local Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCR&R) for quality childcare?
I hope by watching my videos as well I can offer some help and guidance for your childcare needs.

Ive also written a book because of my experiences in teaching and, most importantly, my experiences teaching in child care. Ive always been one to demand excellence in everything I do and from everyone I encounter. The fact that child care is less than excellent keeps me searching for a way to improve the standards that arent meeting my, and hopefully your expectations.
I always thought that if Im a good teacher and a good role model, then others will follow suit and step up to the challenge of creating quality child care, and that it would be enough. Ive always hoped that there are more people out there that have the same standards I do and are creating the same quality than not, but the more I teach, the more I find this isnt the case.
