Do you want to boost your web site traffic as soon as possible? And not by using PPC (pay per click) which is easy but expensive. Here are some suggestions you can use for no cost and get people visiting your site within a very, very short time:
Use blogging: You can set one up your own blog for no money by using blogger.com or wordpress.com. Start getting links to your site. Some of these links will generate their own traffic, so the trick is to get the word out about your post. What you have to do is write a post with keywords related to your topic or affiliate program, and then use the ping services to get the word out. Try using pingomatic.com and pingoat.com. They will send your link out to lots of blog directories and sites. The more you do this, the more traffic you will get.
Start forum posting: today most subjects or niches on the web have a forum related to them. You can join such a forum, usually for free. Make good honest posts that people are interested in amongst the most popular threads. You will get people clicking on your link soon. Slow but certain, and for free.
Article writing: article writing is one of my own ways to generate traffic. Try not to send the same article out each time to the different directories, rewrite them to make them unique. Some will fail, some will be average and some will be very good. BAsically it is a case of not relying on just one single article.
Learn to use Digg: place a small snippet of your article or forum posting on Digg. This service will list it on their high traffic site within a few hours, often quicker. What a great way to get some wide exposure and build your links. This has also a long term traffic potential.
Email to your own list: you probably have your own list of friends and persons who know and trust you. Some people have lists of over 10,000. Professional marketers maintain much larger lists. It is very easy to get traffic to your offer whenever you want it by just sending out a short email.
Use Joint Ventures: this is not an easy task but you can do it. If you receive a new offer or a newsletter from another website close to your niche, then why not see if you can offer something of interest and ask for a JV. Preferably this would be something you would do to offer some value - a free report, a product to sell and you would share the profits with the list owner. This is a good honest way to increase the traffic to your own web site.
