Need a Cure For Constipation? Try this trick

Mark Myers

Do you realize the dangers of prolonged use of laxatives? Are you tired of suffering from constipation? Are you sick of feeling bloated and having putrid flatulence? Would you like to end the pain and discomfort associated with constipation? Would ten or fifteen minutes be a reasonable trade, if it would help you find a cure for constipation? What if this activity Could make you a better person?

Your grandmother has been teaching this since you were little. She more than likely didn't know it could cure constipation. This is not eating nuts, fruit, fiber or even prunes. It is not drinking more water, or less dairy. It isn't about exercising and working out. These will all contribute to a cure for constipation, but not in this article. This one is easier. This is an exercise, but you don't need a new outfit, and you won't have to disrupt your routine.

OK enough already! What is this magic obvious cure for constipation? Chew your food.

In today's world we have been trained to wolf down our food as fast as possible. We don't have time to eat, so we eat quickly, because we have 300 other things competing for our time. Here is what happens when we do chew our food, and what happens when we do not.

What chewing does for us.

Digestion begins in the mouth. Saliva contains enzymes needed to begin breaking the food we eat down. These enzymes change the chemical composition of our food. Chewing grinds the food which physically changes its structure as well. Take grain for instance. Not only does the saliva begin to change the grain into usable starch (sugar) so our body can absorb it, but the physical action of chewing mechanically breaks the fibers in the food. Your teeth have to grind the grain in order for saliva to start changing it into sugar your body can then use.

Your brain sends a message to your stomach when you chew to start getting the juices flowing, food is on its way. These signals allow your body to produce what it needs for proper digestion of your food. When your digestive system gets a head start, it can more readily digest the food you eat. This passes the food more effectively and efficiently through your body. The more nutrients absorbed from the food you eat, the less fat that is absorbed for later use.

The last sentence is worth repeating. The more nutrients that are absorbed from the food you eat, the less fat that is extracted and stored for later use. Ladies listen up, when you eat fast, your system panics, little nutrients are absorbed, but fatis extracted and stored for later use.

What happens when you do not thoroughly chew your food.

Food will not break down properly in your stomach if saliva doesn't thoroughly saturate your food. The way digestion works is the acids in your stomach react with the enzymes in your saliva and break food down to be absorbed. Less saliva equals less digestion by the acids. This means only the outside layer of food gets digested. Your small intestine can only absorb a small amount of the food, just the outside. The result, besides the fat being absorbed (which when left in the food, makes your stools soft), is pushed to the colon to rot.

This rotting food causes gas, bloating, and pressure. Since all of the fat was absorbed rather than included with the waste to help make it soft, when water is extracted from the colon, you are left with constipation.

Now what about making you a better person?

God gave you two ears and one mouth. By chewing your food completely, you get a chance to listen better. Your relationships will flourish when you realize what other people have to say while you are chewing.
