How to Get Rid of Bruises

Tom Smith

How to Get Rid of Bruises Need to know how to get rid of bruises? Everyone has gotten a bruise at one time or another. Usually, you bump into something, forget about it, and days later wonder how you got that bruise on your shin. But bruises can be unsightly and ugly, and ruin the image you are trying to create. The question is, how to get rid of bruises with hurting your skin further.

For minor injuries - bruised shins, wrists, ankles and legs - there are two options. One, you can wait for bruises to fade over time, or two, you can use skin care treatments for bruises formulated to clear discoloration and ease sensitivity.

Treatments for bruises are best dealt with using products containing concentrations of Vitamin K, Emu Oil, Aloe Vera and various botanical or herbal extracts.

Vitamin K has been shown to not only help restore health to capillary walls but to help fade and clear coagulation and bruising. It is a common ingredient in spider veins treatments and creams for its success in reducing redness and fading unsightly clogged or dysfunctional veins.

Apply a cold compress on the bruise, immediately after the bruise took place. This will help quicken the healing process and this way you can get rid of bruises a lot faster.

To prevent bruises you can wear protective clothing (long sleeves, long pants, shoes that protect your feet, etc) over those regions where you tend to repeatedly bruise yourself. If you have a particular region where you get bruises a lot, you can even ask you doctor or even a pharmacist or even ask on forums about special protective things for that particular area. Most of the times you will find exactly what you need.

Water Therapy

The most simple and the most inexpensive home remedy for stretch marks is to drink plenty of water. Water, as the most natural form of body hydration, can keep skin cells elastic as well as internally moisturized. Keeping yourself properly hydrated would mean however that you may have to deal with a bloated tummy and frequent trips to the comfort room. Furthermore, not everyone can stand more than eight glasses of water a day. Taking in more than the daily 8-glass requirement can make you feel a queasy especially when not naturally thirsty.

Cutting Nails and Applying Oil

Since pregnant women are likely to experience itchiness due to their expanding stomach skin, pregnant women are advised to cut short their nails to discourage scratching. Scratching will only worsen an already existing stretch mark condition since it tears at the dermis. A good remedy for the itch would be to apply a doctor-approved body oil and to gently rub the area with a cloth to relieve itching.

Getting Enough Vitamin E

People vouch that applying Vitamin E on stretch marks is one of the best home remedy for stretch marks. All you need is to purchase over-the-counter Vitamin E caplet, open it up and apply the solution on the stretch mark areas. The most effective kind of vitamin E is alpha tocopherol. It is an antioxidant that is required to help rejuvenate the skin and improve its elasticity by promoting cells to replace stretch mark scars.
