Medical Professional Industries

Kevin McClellan

All over the world are many professionals who excel in the field of medicine and healthcare. The list is very long but the following are the most common medical and healthcare professionals that are licensed by law:

" Doctors; " Nurses; " Physical therapists; " Dentists; " Pharmacists.

Each of the above has unique job specifications; their areas of expertise also vary. Doctors have the most diversity in the various fields of healthcare specialization -- cardiology, neurology, oncology, to name a few. Nurses, on the other hand, this group represents a large number of medical professionals and is divided into three: the registered nurse (RN), the licensed practical nurse (LPN) and the certified nurses aide (CNA). Nurses also specialize in several areas of healthcare like trauma, maternity, and surgery.

In addition, the medical professionals clothing is also varied, depending on their jobs demands and environment. While some are clad in hospital scrubs, others wear lab coats.

Hospitals have dress guidelines for their staff regarding what to wear during their shifts. Typically, it varies by profession and by department. Today however, modern healthcare specialists are breaking from the mold when it comes to their work apparel. Nursing scrubs are no longer exclusive to nurses, while lab coats are no longer exclusively worn by lab scientists. Dress codes have become more lenient, and doctors are seen more in alternative types of nursing apparel rather than traditional hospital scrubs. Scrubs have now become fashionable, stepping away from the accustomed plain color and design.

Doctors - Modern doctors increased preference for nursing scrubs is a big leap from their traditional apron and the standard white color. Thanks to the hit TV show SCRUBS, scrubs are now worn not just by doctors, but also by other hospital personnel.

Nurses / Physical Therapists / Dentists professionals from these groups mostly wear nursing or hospital scrubs. With the growing viewership of hospital-themed dramas such as Greys Anatomy, demand for fashion nursing scrubs have continuously rocketed. Nurses, physical therapists, and dentists now like to wear more fashionable and hip nursing scrubs.

Pharmacists unlike doctors and nurses, pharmacists do not wear hospital scrubs but rather don lab coats on top of regular business casual attire. Most lab coats have big and deep pockets at the front, which are convenient for carrying various items that are frequently used throughout the day.

Fashion nursing scrubs are fast becoming the medical uniform of almost all medical practitioners and professionals because of the influences exerted by popular TV shows. Aside from this, nursing scrubs are comfortable, allow wearers a wide range of movement. Plus, nursing and hospital scrubs today are trendier; they now come in many designs, styles and colors.

Modern scrubs have designs that wearers can equate to their immediate surroundings. Animal-themed scrubs can go for veterinarian nurses and doctors. For pediatric nurses, wearing bright, colorful scrubs with cartoon characters or seasonal prints they immediately appeal to the children who they constantly interact with on a daily basis. And for most anyone who wants to be more hip and fun at work, there is an assortment of scrubs for various holidays: Christmas-detailed scrubs, Halloween scrubs, or American-themed for the 4th of July, among many more seasonal designs. The possibilities are quite endless!
