Shopping for baby items can be very exciting but very costly as well. Every single baby item seems too appealing not to buy. But as a practical parent, you should only buy the basic things that your baby needs. Here are some of the basic baby needs that you should spend your money on:

• Personal things like nappies, baby clothes, cloths, gloves, and socks should be on the top of your list. These things are needed when the baby is born.

• Cleaning things like baby wipes, cotton, baby wash, baby oil and other similar items should be prioritized as well.

• When the baby starts eating, you will need a bib, baby plate, spoons, forks and baby toothbrush.

• Things for baby’s skin care should also be bought like the baby lotion, baby powder and other oils.

• The baby will have to have a crib or cot. Some parents decide to let the baby sleep with them on the bed while others prefer to let the baby sleep in a cot. For very young babies, it is a good option to let the baby sleep on the cot to avoid suffocation accidents.

• Baby blankets, mattress, small pillows and other beddings should also be on your list of baby’s basic needs.

• If you are on a tight budget, don’t buy a baby bath tub anymore. Just buy a small basin that the baby can fit in. It is a good alternative to baby bath tub.

• A baby stroller or pram is also a must. It is so much easier to walk around carrying a baby stroller than carrying the baby with all the baby bags and other stuffs hanging on your shoulders.

• A baby car seat is a necessity. To ensure the baby’s safety when travelling, you need to buy a quality baby car seat. In buying a baby car seat, don’t be too tight on your budget. Don’t compromise quality and safety for low price.

• Feeding things like bottles, sterilizer, breast pumps, and brushes should be part of the baby’s basic needs.

These are just some of the baby’s basic needs that you should buy. This is not a complete list. What you have to do is create your own list of “baby’s basic needs” and when you do the actual shopping, stick to your list.
