Hanson Music Studios - Guitar Lessons
Hanson Music Studios is one of the Premier Studios in Las Vegas. We teach Guitar, Bass, Trumpet, Piano, and Voice, as well as mentoring for Music Theory and Conducting.
Wally Hanson, received his Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University. He most recently studied guitar with Bill Swick, the Head of the Guitar department at Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts and International Studies. Mr. Swick is among the top guitar educators in the United States, and the time spent under his mentorship has been invaluable. This has given Wally the tools to groom guitar students for acceptance into Las Vegas as guitar majors, and the success ratio is 100% of students being placed there. Our students are enjoying excellent performance results, and are scattered throughout the Clark County School district as assets to the various school performing groups.
Hanson Music Studios teaches a wide variety of styles, including classical, jazz, country, pop, and rock. We focus heavily on technique the 1st 6 months so that students get a proper grasp on playing their instrument or singing. The students learn to read music from the Mel Bay Guitar book, and we have purchased and developed a wealth of material in e-book form which reduces the need to purchase multiple books. Playing classically or pop/rock music will come after about a year of playing depending on student motivation. We try to encourage our students to sing also, and involve them in singing as a supplement to guitar if they have the desire.
Our philosophy of teaching is to teach for long-term growth, and not short term. We emphasize good playing habits and technique, and can take students as far as they want to go musically. We make our living as a full time musicians with approximately 70 private students of all ages. We also produce music in our recording studio for Las Vegas Songwriters & musicians, and our family singing group, "Steps of Faith" Our title song of our CD, "Steps of Faith" won "Song of the Year" in 2004 at the Las Vegas Songwriter's Association. We teach in the recording studios, so as the students develop, we record them and produce songs with CD quality as a way to enhance the learning process and musicianship.
We are enjoying developing musicians, not just instrument players and singers. Our teaching methods are unique, and tailored to the individual needs and desires of the students and parents.
