The Internet Network Marketing Survival Guide That Every Home Business Owner Must Have
Eric McMillan
Ten years ago network marketing was struggling to gain traction online. Fast forward to today, and it has more than a foot hold on a large chunk of internet real estate. Competition is getting more and more creative and new people are joining the mix daily. If you are into internet network marketing, the following are the survival tips you are going to need to stand out from the crowd and thrive in the online portion of your business.
There is a universal survival concept that each person has ingrained in them if they will just use it. This is the concept of uniqueness. There is no one exactly like you anywhere in the world. In an online world full of the same old tired sales pitches and products you must quickly identify and magnify your unique selling proposition (USP). If you don't find a way to stand out from the crowd then you will never dominate the industry the way you are capable of.
The next thing you need to do in order to survive the internet marketing world is to be sure you are capitalizing on the power of video (YouTube, etc.). Video marketing is a super way to brand yourself because you have to step out from behind the computer and step in front of the camera. There is no hiding imperfections or nuances here. The great thing this does is lets people know you are real and have a life other than online. If you want to generate hoards of traffic, study your target audience and find out what their biggest pains are. Get rid of your Billy Mays like sale pitches and get real.
Thirdly, we are going to need to delve into the world of social media marketing. The name is a misnomer as we are not really going to be marketing anything other than ourselves. Again, not a sales pitch, but a way to connect with people on a more personal level. You can find out about your prospects families and some of their likes and dislikes. You will have the people foaming at the mouth to join you if you take time to ask them how their families are by name and really be interested. Social media is quickly becoming a huge traffic generator for internet network marketers. Be careful to not be sales pitchy or you can kiss your chances of being successful in this medium good bye!
Now, lets talk about creating a conspiracy. No, we are not going to overthrow Mike Dillard or Brian Fanale's organizations and take over the world. We are going to align ourselves with fellow internet marketers who see the glass half full like we do. A group of people is the best way to go about doing this so there are more minds to bounce new product and material ideas off of. Align yourself with people that are more powerful in areas that you are not so good. A glaring example of conspiracy at its best was the election of George W. Bush to the presidency. Let's face it, he wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but he was intelligent enough to know that if he wanted to be president he would have to find people that would complement him.
Finally, remember the people. If you get nothing else out of this article, remember that the network marketing business is about people. And yes, sooner or later you are going to have to talk to these people somewhere other than email if you wish for them to join you. Email, blogs, and articles can only build so much of a relationship with people. Understand what your target markets ills and grievances are and make them your own. If you can do this, you will have control over your destiny and not just in business, but in life as well.
Your survival in the next ten years is going depend on your ability to master a lot of these tips. Creating longevity in the internet marketing business is a tricky thing to do if you are not willing to put in the time to develop these survival tips mentioned above. Start today by taking your video camera with you and documenting some of your activities. Read and research all you can about the people you intend to influence until you have an intricate understanding of their thought processes. From now on when someone asks you "Do you feel me?" you can say with absolute certainty "YES".
Will you find yourself in the 5% or the 95%? You have the tools, but it is up to you to use them.
