How To Pick Jewelleries That Suit Your Face Type?

Rosebay

Understand your face shape before buying your jewelleries. Jewelleries come in real gems and jewels. Whichever one you plan to buy, you must understand your own face shape first. Some of us have a combination face shape.

Use a hair band and push all your hair back, showing only your face. Look into the mirror, use a white board marker pen, and draw your face shape on the mirror. You will see the exact outer line of your face shape on the mirror and that is your face shape.

There are six face shapes; round, pear, heart, long face, square and oval.

A Round Shape Face

The key to purchasing jewellery for round faces is to add length. Angular, elongated and drop style earrings are superb choices. Angular shapes which square, oblong and rectangular are fine. Oval shaped jewellery is also a good choice. However, avoid hoops and round styles. If your neck is long enough, wear dangling earrings. Necklaces should be longer than the face length and hang down. Avoid chokers as they accentuate roundness.

A Pear Shape Face

Jewellery needs to minimise the jaw. Dangling and drop earrings are fine, as long as they are larger at the top. Small to medium sized button style earrings are fine. Inverted triangles are also a good choice. Necklaces are best if they 50cm or longer.

A Heart Shape Face

With a heart shaped face, jewellery should de-emphasise a slender jaw. Earring designs, which are wider at the bottom, such as hoops, bold fashion drops and big bottomed earrings will do the job. Ideally, necklaces should be 45cm to 51cm in length. If you have the neck length, chokers are a good choice.

A Long Shape Face

Your selection of jewellery should shorten the length of the face; in other words, no dangling earrings. Medium to large button or geometric style earrings are best. Necklaces are recommended, about 50cm or shorter. If you neck is long, a chocker would look great.

A square Shape Face

Your selection of jewellery should soften the jaw line. Round earrings are best. Avoid square and geometric shapes as these will emphasize the angles. Necklaces are best if they are 50cm which is about 20” or longer.

An Oval Shape Face

This oval shape face has a wide range of choice as this shape is considered the perfect shape for a woman. However, keep in mind the size of the face in proportion to the size of the jewellery. Make sure you have a long enough neck if you want to wear long, dangling earrings.

Besides using jewellery as the final touch up to your dressing, scarves can be a great accessory and can add color and style to your plain outfit.

Scarves can be square or oblong. Oblong scarves are more versatile and can be worn in many different ways. When selecting a scarf, the color of your outfit must appear on the scarf. If you are selecting a solid colored scarf which is complementary to your outfit, the color must appear somewhere else. Example in the color of your shoes. This creates a co-ordinate and balances look.
