Hi, my name is Angie Warrington and I moved to the Boise Area in 2004 from California. My husband was a firefighter in California for 20 years and we were looking for a little change. I have been a licensed real estate agent in the Boise area for several years now.
Like many people who move to this area, we read about all the positive aspects about the area… like the slower pace of life, great things you can do outdoors with the family like; water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, biking, camping, fishing , hunting and much more.
One of the fun things we like to do in the summer is to float the Boise river. On any given weekends you will find hundreds of people all floating the river from Barber Park to Anne Morrison Park - It’s a really fun relaxing time. Depending on how often you stop for a break it can take 1 ½ to 2 hours or more.
Boise is like a small city that offers everything a large city does without the downsides and traffic of living in a large city. You will enjoy great restaurants, theater, comedy shows with all the big names you can think of. And if you are a sports fan you will enjoy watching Boise State football and the Steelheads hockey team and is a great place to find Boise homes for sale and great deals on Boise foreclosures.
And we really love the weather here – it’s not what most people typically think. Boise is in what is called Idaho's banana belt. It snows pretty good in the mountains around the Boise valley, and when it snows in Boise and the surrounding cities it usually melts pretty fast. The valley usually gets more rain than snow in winter. In the summer we are in the 80’s and 90’s and even hit the 100’s several times a year. The schools are pretty good as well and our kids really like it here. As young teenagers the transition was a little tough at first, however, everyone eventually settled in, met new friends, and are happy that we moved here. As for housing, depending what city you decide to live in, you can purchase a home in a decent neighborhood for about $150 to $200 thousand dollars by contacting Boise Realtors. We chose to build a home in one of the outlying cities called Star, where we purchased an acre of land overlooking an entire valley and built a 4,600 square foot home of our dreams. Our two dogs have a huge fenced back yard to play in. You can also get great deals on Eagle ID homes for sale, Meridian ID homes for sale, and Kuna ID homes for sale.
