Dating Diva Adventure 4 - The Runny Nose
This guy seemed like a dream – the emails we had exchanged back and forth. He is a poet and a great one at that, as am I and so it was dreamy. He was also very successful, an MBA with his own marketing company. We talked once on the phone and set a lunch date in Pasadena. Thai food which I love at a quaint restaurant on Fair Oaks.
He was kind, respectful, insightful and intelligent. He was not very attractive to me, however he was not bad looking either. The only thing…was his nose. It was running like a faucet. No joke. It would not stop. He even commented and said that ever since he moved to Pasadena he has had really bad allergies and nothing helps. I told him I knew a nutritionist who could help him…
I really felt bad for him. As intelligent as he was I am not sure why he could not find some strange holistic doctor to help him! If regular doctors could not figure it out and medicine was not working… We live in Los Angeles after all, if its not here – it does not exist!
Could you imagine kissing a guy whose nose does not stop running and who ALWAYS sounds like he is sick… It was bizarre. Needless to say a bit of a turn off.
One thing that was a bit odd to me was he asked me, Am I who you are looking for? OMG! Seriously? How do you ask someone that when you have only known them for like 30 minutes!!! I do not get it. If you have to ask…the answer is NO!!!
He was kind, just not for me.

About The Author
This blog is from me: the Dating Diva, who has had dates and been picked up on, where I thought to myself, OMG!!! Seriously? Did that really just happen or am I just hallucinating?? I am sure you are wondering who I am, so here is a little bit about myself! I am a woman who is educated: a graduate of the University of California, I have worked in professional settings since I was a teenager in many industries including finance, real estate, government, education and operations. I have been told that I may sound like a super high maintenance diva because of this blog! Which I think is funny because I am one of the most low maintenance women I know! Half the shoes I own, I bought at Target!!!
Its just that when it comes to dating there just a few things I expect especially at the beginning. The first thing is common courtesy also known as manners, so if a man is rude or unkind from a phone call or first it says a lot about who he is. The second thing is someone who has a bit of social awareness and discretion, such as knowing NOT to pull out deep dark secrets on a first date or NOT to make kissy faces at me in public when I have only ever spent an hour with you! The the third thing is a man who is truly interested in me and getting to know me; I do not just want to fill a hole or void in someones life, I want to be truly special to that person. I do not want to be bored by the stories I do not often post on this site are the ones where the guy is nice and kind but I am bored. If I am bored on a first date, what is going to happen after three months? THESE ARE ALL REAL LIFE STORIES!!!
If you ever thought that it was only you, well its not! The guys and some girls out there can be FREAKS! So, if you are in the mood for a funny story or are bored with your own happy relationship and want to see what it is like for us single gals as well enjoy the ride! Stories ranging from men who make kissy faces in public, to those who are hard of hearing or ones who want to propose on the first date!! I also welcome your stories, insights and thoughts on my adventures!
If you have ever thought to yourself, OMG Seriously this is the site for you! I would love to post your stories too! So if you have any you would like to submit and get my opinion of it, send it to me at datingdiva97@gmail.com and you will see it posted!
