When you decide it is time to not only repair your credit, but also build your credit rating up you need to know what it is going to take to go from bad credit to great credit. Many people do not believe that they can make this transition, but that is false and you can build up your credit if you want to. Here are some tips to help you out.
1. Paying off debt to build credit rating
One of the things you can do in order to help your credit rating is to pay off any debts you have on the negative side of your report. It is not enough to simply pay the payments on these on time. You need to pay them off and start with the smallest debt and work your way up to the largest one.
2. Using a Credit Card to build credit rating
Another trick to build credit rating is to use a credit card to build good credit. You have to make sure whatever credit card you choose that you do not carry a balance that is more than 25% of the total credit limit. So if you have a $1,000 credit limit you should never have more than a $250 balance on that card.
3. Not allowing too many inquiries
When you ask for a loan or anything that involves money your credit usually gets pulled. You need to keep this to a minimum because if you have your credit pulled too many times in a 90 day period your score will actually drop.
