AlBrooks.com: Why Use a Ticket Broker
Jeff Brooks
The majority of people attend only a few concerts or sporting events or theatre productions in a year. When the urge comes over an individual to get out and go to a playoff game or a recent Grammy-award winning artist’s concert, they are likely to find themselves in the company of many, many others who are similarly inclined. In other words such a person is suddenly part of a vast herd of ticket seekers and if he or she is not near the front of that herd, disappointment is a likely outcome.
It is at this point in time that the ticket broker can ride to the rescue and save our hopeful event-game-concert attendee from a night of prime time TV or study of yesterday’s newspaper.
A ticket broker deals with people who go to many concerts or games, people who hold season tickets but cannot attend every performance, and the like. These folks are not average or part of the majority. They know their venues, artists, teams, seating plans, etc. They often have GREAT tickets. And they need a trusted resource to recycle tickets they cannot use while recycling some cash back into their pockets. That resource is the ticket broker.
That small percentage of the population with great tickets that need recycling are only going to use ticket brokers who have many regular clients who want tickets – otherwise no recycling takes place. Those whose lives revolve around events, performances or sports and who have the money to acquire the great tickets know exactly which brokers can move tickets that can’t be used.
Reputation is everything to the ticket broker. It is not possible to stay in business without sources of tickets that come to you with every ticket that they cannot use. And it is not possible to move those tickets without a large list of clients who come back year after year. A ticket broker’s new customers are more likely to arrive via word-of-mouth (positive recommendation from existing clients) than from any other promotional means.
For instance, Al Brooks Tickets has been in the business since 1919, nearly a century. Our longevity is strong evidence of a great reputation. A ticket agency like that becomes known for its remarkable ability to access tickets to the most difficult-to-obtain events. And because a broker deals in such a high volume of premium tickets, they are often able to provide a large number of tickets to a single event.
I wish you the best of luck in obtaining GREAT seats to the event you have your heart set on attending.
