How To Design A Brochure Logo

Janice Jenkins

One of the most important elements you need to make a decision on when you have your own business is your logo. Your logo would be the most visible and most repeated element in all your marketing and business dealings. Whether you intend to design a marketing tool such as your brochure printing or promotional giveaway as that of your cube pad, your logo would be the one element that would be evident in all your undertakings. It is but appropriate that you spend your time, effort and resources to create one for your company.

Just like your corporate outfit or the new tie that you bought just for the presentation meeting you have for today, your logo in your marketing tools such as your print brochures, represent who you are. It is the very thing that tells your target clients or your business colleagues of what you do as a business owner or as a company.

In a way, your logo tells your target clients about your company, what you do, as well as how you do things. In other words, it tells a lot about you. It tells of who you are. It represents you to your target clients and customers.

And your logo may even be the last and only thing that your prospective clients will see when they read your print brochures or even when they flip through your catalogs.

So just like your outfit to that presentation or trade exhibit, how do you choose the design that would best represent you to your target clients? Well, you choose from the logo types.

There are three types of logos that you must be aware of. The first one is the font-based logos. These types of logos can be identified with the fonts that the companies use to represent their brand image. You can see them in well-known companies like Burger King, Guess, Intel, Louis Vuitton, among others.

Then there is the second type which literally represents what the company does. Examples would be the NBA, WWF, WHO, etc. Finally, there’s the abstract logo where the company is represented by graphic images or even clipart that makes it very easy for target clients to identify it. Nike and McDonald’s would be perfect examples of this third category.

So after choosing the logo type that is most appropriate for your company, the next consideration is what would be the logo that would be appropriate for you? Before you put ink to paper or click your mouse to start creating your sketch, you need to do your research first. Consider among other things what your company does, the image that would best describe your products and services, as well as what your target clients are looking for. The latter is very important. What your target clients would say about your logo would make or break your business in the industry you’re in. Therefore, it is crucial that you put your target clients in the center of your design efforts.

All in all, your logo will be the one thing that would spell success or failure for your marketing efforts. So how you create one would determine the outcome you expect for your business.
