Cooking with Flavored Olive Oil or Plain Extra Virgin Olive Oils
Cooking with flavored olive oil saves a TON of time! Extra Virgin Olive Oil infused with garlic and herbs and spices is a delish way to give your food extra flavor and still get all the healthy heart benefits of olive oil. It's also a way to move your family away from the reliance of butter as a cooking oil. When you leave butter out you also are cutting down on saturated fats which is great news for the ol' ticker!
Infused olive oil versus plain Extra Virgin Olive Oil, what's the difference? Really the only difference is that the plain olive oil will still require you to add all your garlic herbs and spices as well as any salt or other flavor enhancers. When you do all the adding at the time of preperation you end up taking a lot of extra time to cook. Add in the fact that not all herbs and spices go together and now you've added the extra component of actually knowing what you are doing! If you would like to try this theory out try mixing terragon, curry, savory and rosemary together, what you get is well frankly....a mess!
I speak from experience when I say that you save a ton of time in the kitchen by using garlic olive oil or gourmet olive oils with herbs and spices. I always wanted to be one of those people that could take a pinch of this and a dab of that and create OUTRAGEOUS flavor well unfortunately that gene skipped my generation. My Grandma's had it, me well not so much!
When I discovered how easy it is to make gourmet meals with The Canary Island Garlic and Herb Olive Oil I started using it on everything.
Here is the inside scoop. My business partner and I opened a coffee house in 1995 and within the first year everybody wanted us to start serving food instead of just pastries and bagels. Well that was a problem since I didn't know how to cook!
Miriam Vigoa my partner mixed up a batch of seasoned olive oil that was taken from a recipe that her family has used for over 200 years, from the Canary Islands. You know those mediterranean folks can really cook! Well Miriam told me to just Splash it on everything and it wouldn't matter that I couldn't cook I could splash!
Well that was 15 years ago and we use it on everything we make at our restaurant Cafe Latte Coffee House and Eatery in Winter Haven, Fl. 33884 We now travel the U.S. teaching our signature cooking techniques that are proven to save time in the kitchen and give you gourmet flavor without the work. This cooking method is called "Shake and Splash" and the series is called "Easy recipes for the busy family".
