With the invention many of beauty enhancement products available in the market like cosmetics, beauty soaps, body lotions and others, it becomes easy for them achieve the look they have always dreamt of. However, the dress that a woman wears can really do so much.

There are casual dresses, sporty, sophisticated and glamorous dresses that women can choose from. If you take a look at what's being worn by many women considered to be fashion icons today, you'll find the flapper dress.

Flapper dresses are a whole genre of women's fashion which was introduced during the 1920’s. But because women wear them differently today, these dresses represent a whole new generation of modern women. Before, women were only wearing corsets and long manes but when they started to become more and more liberated, they started cutting their hairs and wearing a bob hairstyle and they started to show more skins like wearing short skirts.

These dresses are usually sleeveless, straight in design, loose in the waist area which dropped down to the hips. These dresses are usually worn with stockings help up using garters. However, by 1927, flapper dresses that are worn below the knee started to emerge.

Here are some steps on how to make your very own flapper dress:

1. Pick out the pattern that you want for your flapper dress.

2. Have someone take the proper measurements of your body- the waist, bust, hip, back waist length, front waist length, shoulder-to-bust, shoulder length, back width length, arm length, upper arm and shoulder-to-elbow. Once you have had your measurements taken, you can select the pattern that will fit your measurements.

3. You can make a few adjustments. First, make a test version. While on the process of sewing the test version, you can put the dress on and make proper adjustments so that it fits your body perfectly.

4. You can now finalize your pattern. You can start taking the part of the test version and use it to substitute the original pieces once you see that everything is complete. But before you do your finishing touches, make sure that you put the dress on and see if there are parts that need adjustments and modifications. And when everything is good, you can now finish the hems and add details.

And now you have your very own flapper dress. To make it look vintage, make sure to wear a long pearl necklace or a beaded necklace with it.
