How to get toned abs by looking in the mirror
Yao Gamashie
These days, it seems as if most adults are pretty focused on their body weight or body shape. This does not take into consideration the youngsters out there, and how they may be approaching this. Perhaps fodder for a future article.
I've considered this awhile, and I believe a good way forward is to look at ourselves a little more critically; consider our habits, and then begin to compare that to others we observe – the object being to match observed behaviour body shape. Look at the person in the mirror. I started off being surprised, then a little perturbed at my own habits, this led me swiftly to being sufficiently motivated to action. After watching others on the street, at work etc, I became concerned about myself.
I began checking out a couple of people at work, Dwayne and Katie; Dwayne and I hung out a little at work, passing the time idly, pretending to be working on our expanding waistlines. He would typically skip breakfast, down several cans of soda, then go ho,e have a burger or pizza, before finally, finishing off with a couple cans of beer Katie, on the other hand – a different kettle of fish! Slim girl, the envy of the other ladies in the office, always eating. But when I paid close attention, I realised she actually just grazed – left most of the food on the plate or in the wrapper!
I began to realise, to understand....
The story is this: don not skip breakfast, because it wakes up your metabolism after sleep! Many sodas are full of High Fructose Corn Syrup – scarily bad-for-you-sugars, that actually will guarantee that you will store fat. Beer we know already – empty calories. Also, we know that food grazing can be pretty effective, not eating too much at any one time, so long as we eat the right stuff. You know fruit, nuts, vegetables. Maybe we can come up with fruit and vegatable smoothies?
So, the lesson could be -study ourselves so we get to unlearn some habits(generally a good idea in other areas of our lives!) Now I have severely reduced my front-end baggage. Katie? Slim as ever! Dwayne? The guy has started watching me now. I will observe back – with considerable interest...
